OUR PLANS FOR THE YEAR
IMAGINE, INVENT, INSPIRE
BOARD MEETINGS
The Louisiana 4-H Science, Engineering, and Technology State Board meets periodically throughout the year to plan events and experiment with new projects.
LOUISIANA OUTDOOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CAMP
4-H offers middle school students the opportunity to have fun with science by attending the annual 4-H LOST (Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology) Camp. This educational camp is a 4-day, 3-night adventure for 7th-8th graders (as of May 2018). Campers enjoy interactive recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing/kayaking, archery, volleyball, dancing, arts and crafts, and much more. While at 4-H LOST Camp, campers select 3 educational tracks in which they participate in fun activities each morning that are focused on that area. The tracks for this year include videography, wetlands, outdoor adventures, SET (science, engineering, and technology), and more! In the evening, campers enjoy free time, which includes hanging out with new friends at the dance, movies, swimming pool, or arts and crafts building.
SOUTHERN REGION TEEN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Officers and seniors on the S.E.T. Board are given the opportunity to attend a leadership conference in Crossville, Tennessee.
OPERATION: MILITARY KIDS CAMP
This camp is put on by the S.E.T. Board for Operation Military Kids. OMK is a national program funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. In Louisiana, the program is a partnership of the LSU AgCenter, 4-H National Headquarters, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Army Child, Youth and Social Services.
